Adding a Guest RoomEuropeans are most particular about their privacy even from extended family members. Unlike Asians, they are not that fond of having relatives around that stay with them for days. That is why guest rooms are not always a common thing especially for those living in smaller homes. Since it is unacceptable not to have your guests sleep in your home, it is best to convert an unused area in the house as a guest room. For people who have large wooden sheds in their garden, it can be instantly converted into a guest house so it can accommodate guests for just a few days. All it needs are windows to let some sunshine and air in, a reliable door and enough space to allow the homeowner to place a bed or beds in it. However, if you are going to have guests during the winter, it will be comfortable for them if you fit in insulated panels on the wall to increase the room's capacity to provide warmth for your guests. Usually, a few centimetres thick of expanded polystyrene will do the trick and make guests feel more at home. The garden should be in close proximity to the main house as guests will need to have easy access to the bathroom, unless you want to install a new bathroom outside your house. If the shed does not have electricity, you can improvise by adding a few cables. To make the guest house more homely, the homeowner will need to use a few decor and paint the walls. Use drapes of warm colours and smaller ornaments to avoid making it look cluttered. Moreover, make sure the shed has a good view of beautiful scenery, a flowerbed or the garden to avoid making it look more like a prison, or worse a pig pen because of its size.
